April 24, 2026, marked the 3rd meeting of representatives from Polish defense sector companies, during which discussions included plans to establish a common platform to allow for closer cooperation within the sector.
Representatives of 12 companies from this strategic segment of the Polish economy were hosted by PONAR Wadowice S.A., a European technological leader in the field of advanced dual-use power hydraulics.
– We have completed another very substantively productive meeting of representatives from key Polish companies operating in the broadly defined industry related to defense and security. Everyone – representatives of both state-owned and private entities – agrees that cooperation is essential for building a strong and competitive position for this segment of the Polish economy – emphasizes Marek Warzecha, President of the Management Board of PONAR Wadowice S.A.
The long-term success of the state and private Polish defense industry, its competencies, and technological thought, will depend on the ability to integrate with European supply chains of advanced, high-margin defense systems and on the development of further innovative platforms that respond to changing market demand. In this regard, European support instruments such as SAFE, EDIP, USL, or EDF play a key role, which was extensively discussed during the sector meeting.
- The European ecosystem currently includes a dense network of instruments with diverse goals. However, the decisive factor for success will be their scale. Constant and significant financial allocations to support programs are essential. In this context, the final design and budget of the future European Competitiveness Fund will be of particular importance and should be commensurate with the scale of challenges related to the erosion of the international security architecture and the emergence of a new arms race, and the Polish defense industry should be one of the key beneficiaries of these solutions – emphasized Łukasz Jurczyszyn, Director of the EU Funds Office at Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.
The meeting participants also drew attention to the need for joint initiatives toward systemic support for the sector. Emphasis was placed, among other things, on the importance of strengthening the position of the Polish industry in the European forum and better access to financing. This is also the key to a broader presence of companies from our sector in regional and global markets, as well as to developing and implementing solutions that will make us independent of foreign supplies. Recent years have clearly shown that supply chains can be unpredictable, and relying solely on them can prove unreliable.
The meeting of leaders of the Polish defense industry was attended by representatives of the following companies: Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A., WB Electronics S.A., Advanced Protection Systems S.A., AMZ Kutno S.A., Radiotechnika Marketing Sp. z o.o., Lubawa S.A., Iceye Polska Sp. z o.o., Creotech Instruments S.A., Teldat sp. z o.o. sp.k., Wielton S.A., Transbit sp. z o.o., and PONAR Wadowice S.A. Participants also expressed openness to having other Polish manufacturers operating in the defense and dual-use sector join in the future, which would allow for even broader integration of domestic industrial potential. The first meeting was held at the initiative of PGZ S.A., the next one thanks to WB Electronics S.A.
