On 14 January, during the high-level conference “Latvia – Poland Strategic Defence Cooperation Day” at the Dailes Theatre in Riga, representatives of public administration, security experts, and defence industry companies from Poland and Latvia discussed strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, military cooperation, and the development of industrial partnerships.
The event was organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riga (Polijas Republikas vēstniecība Rīgā) in cooperation with Polish companies operating in the defence industry: PONAR Wadowice S.A., WB GROUP, Lubawa S.A., and Miranda Textiles.
An important element of the conference was the participation of our company – PONAR Wadowice S.A. – as one of the key Polish defence industry companies. In our presentation, we highlighted the potential for cooperation on projects for the defence sector, as well as dual-use solutions combining military and civilian applications, which is of particular importance for building the technological and economic resilience of the region.
The conference was opened by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Latvia, Tomasz Szeratics, and the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Latvia, Andris Sprūds.
“Latvia is one of Poland’s closest partners in strengthening regional security. Industrial cooperation in the field of defence is a strategically important direction that allows us not only to enhance military capabilities, but also to promote technological development and economic resilience,” noted Tomasz Szeratics, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Latvia.
The conference confirmed that Latvian–Polish cooperation in the defence sector has solid foundations and real prospects for further development—both in terms of security and the economic resilience of the region.
