We"ve got ISO 14001
Trying to preserve good condition of the surrounding environment and meeting the Client’s needs, the Management Board of PONAR Wadowice has decided to implement the System of Environmental Management ISO 14001 and the European EMAS system (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme).
The implementation of the environmental standards ISO 14001 will help us to achieve the following benefits:
- savings resulted from lower usage of tools, supplies and materials used in production and assembly.
- savings resulted from reduction of environmentally harmful substances emissions, which is equivalent to reduction of costs related to making use of environment and possible penalties for exceeding allowed emission levels.
- A tool allowing the whole plant to control its impact on the natural environment.
- Improving the reputation of the company and its image among the clients, contractors, especially those from Western Europe, where greater attention is paid to the environmental policy.
Whereas, implementation of the community eco-management system and auditing (EMAS) will place our company among the elite group of businesses and institutions recognizable not only in Europe, but also globally, as a pro-ecological organization.
The main audit was held on 21-22 September. PONAR Wadowice has successfully undergone verification for certification on compliance with ISO 14001 standards. The plant has also undergone with positive results a verification required by EMAS regulations of the environmental declaration. The final stage requires carrying out a checking procedures by the proper institutions and registration on the EMAS website.
