PONAR Wadowice developed and manufactured hydraulic drives for the gates and culvert valves of the modernized north chamber of the Łabędy lock on the Gliwice Canal. The delivery included 4 hydraulic power units, 4 accumulator stations, and 12 hydraulic cylinders.
The lock operates in automatic mode, which is why the power units were equipped with electrically controlled directional valves, pressure sensors, oil level sensors, and temperature measurement sensors, enabling the automation of the hydraulic power unit operation. In the developed solution, hydraulic accumulators were used to perform emergency movements of the gates and culvert valves. The hydraulic energy stored in the accumulators allows the lock to be closed in the event of a power failure.
