PONAR Wadowice participated in the project to revitalize the Vistula Boulevards—we supplied hydraulic drives for mooring barges along the bank of the Vistula River.
We designed hydraulic power units operating the cylinders as well as hydraulic components of the crane. The designed UHSP60 type power units are driven by a 6 kW internal combustion engine. The main element of the hydraulic system is a two-section mobile directional control valve, in which one of the sections is responsible for controlling the movement of the cylinders, while the second section is equipped with a detented spool enabling a continuous oil flow to the crane system. A hand pump was additionally installed as an emergency drive element.
PONAR also supplied cylinders for folding the mooring spuds. Mooring of the barges takes place by driving vertical spuds into the riverbed using hydraulic systems consisting of hydraulic cylinders and power units. The spuds are able to move in two planes: in the vertical axis by means of an electric winch, and they can be folded horizontally using hydraulic cylinders. Additionally, the hydraulic drive of the crane was used for unfolding and folding the gangway.
The barges serve catering functions and act as stops for the Warsaw Water Tram (a tourist line).
The Vistula Boulevards are one of the most beautiful recreational spots in Warsaw. In recent years, the Capital City of Warsaw has carried out a series of actions aimed at designing and revitalizing the left bank of the Vistula River to increase the attractiveness of this location in the eyes of residents and tourists.
