PONAR Wadowice designed a proportional control system for a rotary table for aerated concrete blocks.
In the production process of building elements (blocks) made of aerated concrete, there is a need to rotate the block of concrete mass in order to cut it into pieces of specified dimensions. This takes place on a device called a “cutting machine”.
The concrete block in its uncured state (before autoclaving) is rotated for cutting from a horizontal position to a vertical one and, after cutting, in the form of a “stack” of blocks, rotated back to the horizontal position. There is a need here for a smooth start and smooth stop of the rotated block to avoid any potential damage.
USEB10 proportional directional control valves and 32 RE21 controllers were used to control the rotation. Control signals from a rotary encoder are fed via the controller to the 32RE21 regulator.
Proper selection of the controller’s parameters ensures a smooth start of rotation—at a low speed, acceleration of the rotated mass to a high speed, and a smooth deceleration and stop.
