For the machinery industry, we delivered a hydraulic power unit designed to power and control the operation of clamps.
The hydraulic power unit is used to supply and control the operation of 32 clamping cylinders fixing workpieces on CNC machine tools.
The power unit serves four independent workpiece clamping fixtures. Changing workpieces on each fixture takes place every 2.5 minutes.
At the same time, workpiece change occurs on only one fixture—during this time, the remaining fixtures must maintain “uninterrupted” clamping due to the machining process.
The system parameters allow opening/closing the clamps in 2–3 seconds. 5 seconds after retooling one fixture, the system is ready for the next retooling.
The operation of each clamping unit is controlled by an electrically operated 4/2 poppet (leak-free) valve type UREZ6. The power unit is mounted on a 25 l aluminum tank.
A common power source for all four clamping units is a diaphragm accumulator type MBSP, charged by a gear pump type 10C1.
An electronic pressure switch is responsible for continuously maintaining the appropriate pressure level in the accumulator.
