Taking care of education
PONAR Wadowice S.A. cooperates with technical universities to engage into education of future engineers. From many years we have been organising lectures and meetings at universities and also we offer participation in apprenticeships and vocational internships.
This ear, in October two employees of PONAR Wadowice Research and Development Centre, two students of Silesian University of Technology received an engineering diploma. Their MA dissertations were based on subjects connected with development of PONAR products and services within the field of oil hydraulics.
Kamil Dworak, a graduate of Mechanics and Machinery Construction, in his work provided an analysis of hydraulic oil flow through a WE6 directional control valve manufactured by PONAR Wadowice SA with the usage of numerical flow analysis.
Analytical works on oil flow were carried out by using a dedicated CFD software and the results of simulations were verified at the test rig of Research and Development Centre.
Tomasz Gola, a graduate of Mining and Geology within the scope of his MA thesis designed a hydraulic system for powering a dedicated cutting/extinguishing intended for firefighting. During his research modern equipment of the Research and Developmen Centre was used as well.
Arkadiusz Górny – the director of PONAR Wadowice plant in Łaziska Górne says “Cooperation between the world of science and reality of businesses is the major factor influencing the oil hydraulic industry, that is why PONAR Wadowice is actively supporting education of future engineers”.

Kamil and Tobiasz had an opportunity to connect the technical knowledge gained during the studies with a real-life engineering works. The effects of their studies will be applied into the operation of PONAR Wadowice” – says Piotr Rosikowski PhD, eng., the Director of the Research and Development Centre, a person who supervised the authors of the works on behalf of PONAR Wadowice.
Kamil Dworak in his work at the Research and Development Centre appreciates “…the ability to develop his skills and the fact that the work at my position provides ongoing challenges. Each topic carried out under the Research and Development Centre is totally different, which in turn is reflected in a necessity of learning new subjects of oil hydraulics as well as other fascinating fields of technology, such as automation, electricity or even programming”.
“The knowledge gained when working in PONAR Wadowice was very helpful in writing the MA thesis as well as during the course of studies. In my work in the Company I do appreciate the approach towards people and professionalism” – says Tobiasz Gola.
The development of future engineers is important for us, therefore we are happy that we were able to support our colleagues in their scientific research.
